Welcome

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated scientist with a strong passion for driving progress in the field of global health.

My scientific journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s degree in Cell and Systems Biology. For my PhD at the University of Antwerp and Institute of Tropical Medicine, I explored genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics to understand pathogen molecular biology and evolution, particularly in context of host-adaptation and drug-resistance. I continued this multiomics path during my post-doc, conducting also a fascinating long research at the Center for Genomic Regulation in Barcelona.

Subsequently, during my second post-doc, I spearheaded an innovative research project in Reverse Vaccinology, working closely with scientific leads from both the University of Antwerp and GSK.

Presently, I am a Senior Data Scientist in GSK’s Immune Informatics Team, where our mission is to propel vaccine projects by exploring the intricate link between antigen exposure and immune response.

With over a decade of experience and more than 40 peer-reviewed publications in the scientific field, I am deeply committed to utilizing research for disease prevention and cure. My diverse background, spanning from wet lab research to data science, coupled with strong communication skills, allows me to effectively bridge gaps among scientists from varied backgrounds. Beyond my professional life, I find inspiration in nature and enjoy hiking, traveling, and discovering the marvels of the world.
